The Universal Common Communication Substrate (UCCS) is a new universal, portable, and performance driven communication API used to expose low level capabilities of high performance networks. It makes common network code available in order to provide critical services for implementing features needed by high level parallel programming constructs. These services include lightweight remote memory access operations, lightweight synchronizations, active messages, atomic operations, etc.
Supplemented by a robust API to access different portable runtime environments, UCCS allows for fast prototyping and reliable performance for the development of parallel programming execution environments and applications.
